ITALY, Campania, Nola, (c.400-390 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, (7.052 grams), obv. female nymph head with diadem to right, rev. man-headed bull walking to right, above Nike flying to right, traces of **NWLAIWN*, below bull, double exergue line, (cf.S.311 [ú250], Rutter 46 [obv. die 19, reverse die 30], BMC 43 [same dies], SNG ANS 554 [same reverse die]). Fine/nearly very fine and rare.

Six examples are known for this die combination and most of these are at present in various Museum collections. Rutter in his 1979 definitive die study knew of only 194 examples of this mint in all the public and private collections.
