THEODOSIUS II (A.D. 402-450), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 443-445, (4.282 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing holding spear and shield, around DN THEODOSI VS P F AVG, rev. Constantinopolis seated to left holding cross on globe and sceptre, CONCORDI A AVGGI around, CONOB in exergue, star in left field, (cf.S.4288, RIC 202). Has been mounted, otherwise good very fine.
