ELLIS READ & Co., Albert River, Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland, one pound, Burketown (1 Aug) 186(6) No(86), pay No (three) to the Australian Joint Stock Bank, Bowen. Imprint "Engd. by T. Ham & Co. Brisbane. Ink rubber stamp Commercial Banking Company Sydney in oval, crossed 1432 and signed John Frazer & Co in script on back (MVR p.44). Frayed edges and pin holes otherwise very fine and very rare.

Ex D. Raymond and probably from the Dr. G.H. Abbott Collection.
