AUSTRALIA, to Commemorate the Establishment of the Commonwealth of Australia, 1901, in silver (44mm) by W.J.Amor Sydney (cf.C.1901/39), reverse, The Father of Australian Federation. Toned, good extremely fine.

Only 30 of this medal were struck from rusty dies for Sir Robert Menzies in 1951. It is distinguishable from the 1901 striking by an extra (1mm) in the diameter and also the thicker planchet of (5mm). This compares to the (43mm)(3.5mm) 1901 issue.
