AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OF NEW SOUTH WALES, in bronze (90mm) by Hardy Brothers London & Sydney, reverse, Practice with Science, engraved on reverse, 'Captn. Onslow. / For Services Rendered / Class (is die-struck) 733.802 / Food & c. / 1870.' Extremely fine and a rare award to the husband of Elizabeth Macarthur.

Captain Arthur Onslow, 1847 Royal Navy, to the Crimean War as Lieutenant in Baltic Squadron, 1857-1861 in the Herald Survey of Shark Bay, Torres Strait and Barrier Reef, 1863 promoted Commander, 1864 arrived at Sydney, 1871 retired with rank of Captain, 1874 explored coast of New Guinea with his cousin William Macleay in the Chevert, 1867 married Elizabeth Macarthur at Camden, 1869 won seat of Camden, 1882 died.
