CHINA, Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty (1644-1911), De Zong (Kuang Hsu), (1875-1908), Tianxia Taiping cast brass, "Tian Xia Tai Ping" (Heaven below Great Peace - Peace on earth) on reverse as four characters, Probably a Board of Revenue manufacture, 45mm, (34.5 grams), (KM.C.-, Hartill 26.3). Very fine and very rare.

The register of large cash states that these coins were used for presentation in the Palace of Ancestral Worship, each wrapped in a piece of rectangular cloth. Each time an emperor ascended to his ancestors (died) they were replaced with newly minted coins.
