POSTAL AND TELEGRAPH CONFERENCE, Adelaide, May, 1890, His Excellency The Governor, Report of Proceedings, 75pps., bound together with a set of fourteen specimen South Australian postal notes from one shilling to one pound, overprinted 'SPECIMEN' and serial numbers 00001, printed on five sheets. Beautifully bound in full royal blue calf, all edges gilt, gilt tooling with polished contrasting borders, the finest of the presentation copies and officially bound by the Government Printer, Adelaide. With 'John M.Chapman Collection' bookplate. In excellent condition.

Ex Spink Noble Sale 35 (lot 1171). Postal notes were the first Official Government face value currency to

circulate throughout the Australian colonies.
