UNITED SERVICE CHALLENGE SHIELD, 1907, in silver (85mm x 55mm), decorated by a cross with a star at each point, at the centre a scene of colonial troops, the quarters lightly engraved with naval and military groups, the top arm of the cross divides into a V, topped by a crown and a likeness of Queen Victoria, the bottom arm with the Australian Coat of Arms, with two brooch pins, engraved on reverse 'V. R. A. (Victorian Rifle Association) / 1907 / International Match / Won by / Ireland / T.Curtain Jr', a small '8' impressed at base of reverse and inscribed with jewellers code '7/0 /5394'. Very fine and rare.
