NEWINGTON COLLEGE, 1879, in silver (45mm) with ornate suspension and ring, inscribed on obverse 'Newington / College / December / 1879' and on reverse 'Presented / to / F.P.Fawcett / for success in the / University / Public Exam'. With case of issue. Extremely fine.

Newington College, Stanmore, Sydney, New South Wales, was established in 1863 at Silverwater. The College was moved to it's present site in Stanmore in 1880. Frank P Fawcett enrolled from Moruya in 1878. His medal would be the last awarded at the old site.
