INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION, Sydney, N.S.W., 1879, in gold (51mm, 93.18gms) by J.S.& A.B.Wyon, inscribed on reverse 'Sir William G / Armstong & Co / Ordnance'. With case of issue. Slighest surface marks, otherwise nearly FDC and extremely rare.

Ex Spink Australia Sale 32 (lot 1189) and Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 775). Judges report 'In classes 266 and 267, the exhibits of Sir W.G.Armstrong & Co stand pre-eminent'. With single page of research detailing recipients. These gold medals are the rarest prize medals of Australian nineteenth century exhibitions, twelve awarded to exhibitors.
