INTERCOLONIAL EIGHT OAR RACE, 1878, in gold (30.4gms, 54mm x 56mm) with loop mount, an embellished Maltese cross with circle overlay, engraved on obverse, with crossed flags and oars, Australian Coat of Arms inside circular overlay and inscription 'Intercolonial Eight Oar Race / 1878', and on reverse 'Won by / Victorian Crew / 6th March / 1.R.Ward / 3.W.Bray / 4.J.L.Irvine / 5.W.H.Tuckett / 6.J.M.Simson / 7.T.H.Young / 8.G.Fairbairn / F.Edwards / Cox / No.2.J.Booth'. Extremely fine.
