DUKE OF EDINBURGH VISIT, (1867), uniface trial in lead (55mm) of a pattern obverse die by Thomas Stokes. This die failed and exhibits a full horizontal die crack. Good very fine and excessively rare, one of 3 or possibly 4 specimens known.
