THE COPLEY MEDAL, in silver (43mm). A gold medal of this was awarded by the Royal Society of London to Captain James Cook R.N. (Klenman 2). Extremely fine and rare.

Baronet Godfrey Copley instituted this medal which was awarded annually from 1736.
