MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip II, (359-336 B.C.), AE 18, uncertain Macedonian mint, (8.75 grams), issued posthumously c.323-316/5 B.C., obv. Apollo head to right with tainia, dotted border, rev. naked youth on horse, above **FILOPPOU*, to right of horse **D*, (cf.S.6696, cf.SNG ANS 912, SNG Greece II, -); Syria, Kingdom of, Seleucus III, (226-223 B.C.), AE 15, Antioch mint, (4.69 grams), obv. Artemis bust right, rev. Apollo seated left, (S.6929, SNG Israel (Spaer) 503 ff, SNG Cop.133). First with somewhat porous surface, large flan, very fine and a rare variety; second with earthy patina, good fine. (2)
