PHILIP I, (A.D. 244-249), silver antoninianius, Rome mint, issued 249, (3.834 grams), obv. radiate bust to right, around IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, rev. four standards one of which is the legionary eagle, around FIDES EXERCITVS, (S.8930, RIC 62, RSC 50); another Rome mint, issued 245-7, (3.972 grams), obv. radiate bust to right, around IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG, rev. Roma seated to left holding Victory and sceptre, around ROMAE AETERNAE, (S.8952, RIC 44b, RSC 169); Philip II, (as Caesar), (A.D. 244-247), silver antoninianius, Rome mint, issued 245-6, (4.210 grams), obv. radiate bust to right, around M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, rev. Philip in military dress standing right, holding globe and spear, around PRINCIPI IVVENT, (S.9240, RIC 218d, RSC 48). Very fine or better. (3)
