MACRINUS, (A.D. 217-218), AE as, Rome mint, (11.11 grams), issued A.D. 217, obv. bearded Macrinus laureate cuirassed bust to right, around IMP CAES M OPEL SEV MACRINVS AVG. rev. Salus enthroned to left, feeding a snake arising from the altar and holding a sceptre, around VOTA PVBL P M TR P, (S.7433, RIC 131, C.151, BMC 99). Red-brown patina, nearly extremely fine and rare.
