CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 215, (11.11 grams), obv. laureate head to right, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Aesculapius standing to front head to left, holding serpent-wreathed wand, to right a globe, P M TR P XVIII COS IIII P P S C around, S C in fields, (S.6996, RIC 553a, BMC 489, C.304). Short on flan on obverse, otherwise good very fine with attractive dark patina.
