LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), silver denarius, issued 164, Rome mint, (3.334 grams), obv. L VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS, bare head to right, rev. Mars standing to right in military dress, holding spear and resting left hand on shield, around TR P IIII IMP II COS II, (S.5355, BMC 282, RIC 515, RSC 229). Grey tone, good very fine and scarce.

Ex Romanorum, Canberra, 2003. The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 1325 coins of Lucius Verus with 101 of this variety.
