TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.654 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763, RIC 30, BMC 48, H.916 [304]). Toned, weak on some legends, slightly off centred on reverse, otherwise very fine or slightly better.

Ex Italo Vecchi Auction Sale 13, September 4, 1998 (lot 726). Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
