SCOTLAND, William I "The Lion" (1165-1214), silver penny, Crescent and pellet coinage, 1174-1195, Edinburgh mint, moneyer Folpolt, obv. potent sceptre head crowned bust left, pellet and crescent behind, around L EREI [WILL]AM, rev. around [F]OLPOLTDEPE[R], cross pattee, pellet with lines in crescent in angles, (S.5025, Stewart Pl.II, 18, SCBI 35 Nos.32-35). Flat for a quarter of the coin, otherwise very fine and rare.
