LATE ROMAN AND EARLY BYZANTINE, 6th century A.D., spherical commercial weights, 54.6 grams (two ounce weight or sextans), with inlaid silvered letters raised X/B (S.Bendall Byzantine Weights 31, p.27 as illustrated p.26); others of smaller weight 13.6 grams (half ounce weight or semuncia) inscribed XX; 7.2 grams (sicilius) and 4.7 grams (sextula). Dark green patina, very fine and first very rare.

Ex Find in Northern Greece.
