GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver denarius, (2.944 grams), Rome mint, obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Jupiter standing facing, head to right, holding sceptre, around IOVIS STATOR, (S.2471, RIC 112, RSC 113). Nearly as struck, extremely fine.
