SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 209 (3.022 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around LIBERA LI TAS AVG VI, Liberalitas standing to left, holding abacus and cornucopiae, (S.6306, RIC 278a, RSC 298). Attractive grey and gold tone, good extremely fine and rare in this condition.

Ex B.A. Seaby London, c.1977 with ticket.
