LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 164-5, (23.92 grams), obv. bare headed bust of Lucius Verus, cuirassed to right, very weak around L AVREL VERVS AVG ARMENIACVS, rev. TR POT V [IMP II] COS II, SC in exergue, Lucius Verus standing to left sceptre, between four standards, (S.-, RIC 1426, C.188). Porous field, weak in places, otherwise fine and very scarce.

Ex Cornelius C. Vermeule III Collection, sold in Triton III (lot 1712 part) for the benefit of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
