TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.714 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.1763 [£375 EF], RIC 30, BMC 48, H.916 [304]). Round and well centred, minor graffiti in obverse field, otherwise very fine and rare in this condition.

Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
