SASSANIAN KING, Kavad I, (A.D. 488-496, 498-531), silver drachm, second reign issue, (4.032 grams), obv. bust to right with crown, name in outer margin, rev. fire altar, Marv mint, year 36 = 520, (Sellwood 51, Gobl 187, M.1024). Attractive grey and gold tone, extremely fine and very scarce.

Ex William B. Porter USA Collection and ticket. The Marv mint is not listed in Sellwood but noted in Mitchiner.
