(c.425-420 B.C.), silver didrachm (7.798 grams), obv. warrior on horse galloping right, spearing fallen hoplite, rev. head of the river god Gelas left, with a small bull's horn, within olive wreath, (S.800, Jenkins, Gela 463 [Obv.88/Rev.176), SNG ANS 87 [same dies], Jameson 594 [same dies], SNG Ash, 1739 [same dies]). Porous surface with many scratches, otherwise nearly fine and very rare.
