SASSANIAN KING, Varhran V, (A.D. 420-438), silver drachm, (4.204 grams), obv. bust to right with crown, name in outer margin, rev. fire altar, BBA Ctesiphon mint, (Sellwood 43, Gobl 156, cf.M.955-6). Good very fine, very rare mint.

Ex William B. Porter USA Collection with ticket. The mint is not listed by Sellwood but is noted by Gobl for the Sassanian series.
