SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.518 grams), Antioch mint, issued 155-154 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne in form of a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS, to left **DHMHTRIOU SWTHROS* in two lines, monogram to left **PHA* over ATN, in exergue HNP (158 = year 155/4) (cf.S.7015, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 1266-7, SMA Newell 103). Toned, good very fine.
