IONIA, Ephesos, (202-133 B.C.), AE 18, (4.094 grams), obv. bee with open wings dividing [E] - **F, all within laurel wreath, rev. stag standing to right, palm tree behind, in front **SO* monogram, name **[A]POLLWN[I..]* (Apollonias), (cf.S.4405, BMC 134, SNG von Aulock -, SNG Turkey -). Attractive patination, very fine and a rare type.
