BENGAL PRESIDENCY, Calcutta Mint, 1819 third milled issue, S rupee, Perpetual 19 san sicca series, Standard Silver Currency, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), silver rupee, with privy mark for Calcutta and S to left of top line on rev., edge grained vertically, (Pr. 176, KM.109). Nearly extremely fine and rare, with weight adjustment striation marks on reverse.

Ex B.A. Seaby, January 1970 and Colin E. Pitchfork Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2133). This specimen is the equal to the Pridmore specimen (lot 618) and is illustrated in his book. The issue is rare and rarely offered, the Pridmore specimen the last at auction noted by cataloguer.
