THRACE, Kingdom of, Lysimachus, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.594 grams), Byzantium mint?, issued after 282/1 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, spear behind, R inner left, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **LUSIMAXOU*, (cf.S.6814, Thompson -, M.555, cf.Mektepini 121, Armenak - [ANS MN 31], SNG Cop. -, Meydancikkale -). Grey tone, very fine/nearly very fine and a rare variety.

Ex George Tuck Pittman USA Collection. The issue is very similar to Mektepini (pl.5, 121), but this example has a small BY placed on the throne.
