MACEDON, Akanthus, silver tetrobol, (424-380 B.C.), (2.330 grams), obv. forepart of bull to left, head to right, bell shaped flower above (acanthus flower), dotted border, rev. four part incuse square of very archaic form filled with dots, (S.-, BMC 31, SNG ANS -, SNG Cop. -). Dark tone, very fine and rare.

Ex B.A. Seaby, c.1968 with tickets.
