MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), AE 18 (6.562 grams), Tarsus mint, issued 327-323 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. above bunch of grapes and A, a club below, **ALEXAND[ROU]* between, bow and bowcase below, (cf.S.6739, Price 3028, BMC 3028, M.1537). Even dark patination, slightly off centred obverse, very fine/good very fine and a very scarce type.
