NEW ZEALAND, cheque No. 369, drawn on the Union Bank of Australia, Wellington, Nov. 12th 1841, payer W (illiam) Wakefield, payee Mr. Young, for twenty five pounds sterling. Several pin and spike holes, otherwise fine and rare.

William Hayward Wakefield was the younger brother of Edward Gibbon Wakefield, founder of The New Zealand Company. He was one of the founders of Wellington.
