SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D.193-211), silver denarius, issued 201, Rome mint, (3.142 grams), obv. laureate head to right, SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. PART MAX P M TR P VIIII, captives seated either side of base of trophy, (cf. S.6323, RIC 176, RSC 370). Dark grey and gold patina, nearly extremely fine.
