CHINA, Empire, Ch'ing Dynasty (1644-1911), bronze cash, in the name of Emperor Tai Tsu Kao (1616-1627) with nien hao of T'ien Ming issued in seal script, (Sch.1355, TFP 1625). Fine - very fine. (2)

T'ai Tsu was a Manchurian Khan named Nurhachi who in 1616 named himself emperor of China (the Jin State). The writing on these examples is unique to the Dynasty by being in Manchu. The next issue shortly after reverted back to the orthodox script.
