JULIUS CAESAR, (assassinated 44 B.C.), denarius, Rome mint, struck Feb. - March 44 B.C., (3.79 grams), obv. [CAESAR] DICT PEREPETVO around Caesar's veiled head to right, rev. P. SEPVLLIVS MACER around, Venus standing left, holding Victory and sceptre resting on shield, (S.1414, Cr.480/13, RSC Julius Ceaser 39, BMC 4173). Porous flan, off centred on the obverse and reverse, otherwise fine and scarce.
