SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrius I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.588 grams), Antioch mint, issued 162-156 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne in form of a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS, to left **DHMHTRIOU, monogram in exergue of **PI*, (S.7014, SMA Newell 84, BMC 34). Very fine.
