MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.186 grams), Colophon mint, issued 323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, lyre to left, **ALEXANDRPOU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 1768, BMC 1768a-c, M.240, SNG Cop. 974). Good very fine, scarce.
