MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.174 grams), Side mint?, issued 325-320 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin without border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **FI* to left, **BS below throne, **BASILEWS* above and to right **ALEXANDROU, (cf.S.6713, Price 2955, BMC 2955a-d, M.-, Demanhur 1952-1965). Well centred with very high relief, toned good very fine and scarce.
