DCM.: C.G.: No.184 14Dec1916 'For conspicuous gallantry during operations, although attacked by enemy bombers he led his men forward with great skill and bravery under heavy fire, and assisted to put a large number of the enemy out of action, besidescapturing several prisoners, machine guns and rifles'.
