CLAUDIUS, (A.D. 41-54), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 51-52, (3.35 grams), obv. laureate head of Claudius to right, around TI CLAVD C[AESAR AVG PM TR P XI P] P IMP XVIII, rev. S P Q R / P P / OB C S in three lines all within oak-wreath, (S.1848, RIC 48, BMC 174 note, RSC 98). Porosity and rough surface, missing most of obverse legend, otherwise good fine and very rare.
