FRANCE, Carolingian issue, Charles the Bald, (840-875), silver denarius, 'Curtisassonien' mint, issue of 840-864, obv. cross in circle, GRATIAD IREX around, rev. Karolus monogram, ++CVRTISASONIEN around, (M & G 895). Extremely fine and very scarce.
