'1945' engraved on DFC, 414397 F.R.Fogarty on fourth, fifth and sixth medals. Second and third medals unnamed, fourth, fifth and sixth medals impressed. Very fine.

L.G.: 08May1945 C.G.: 17May1945 'Throughout numerous attacks against heavily defended targets, Lieutenant Fogarty has distinguished himself by his courage and tenacity. He has led his flight with skill and determination. On several occasions, his aircraft has been damaged by fire from the enemy's defences while over the target, but each time he has pressed home his attack with resolution. Both in the air and on the ground, Flight Lieutenant Fogarty has set an inspiring example to all'.
