CHINA, Western Chou Dynasty, Warring State period, 'Li shih' (Lei Sek), (elegant stone), round cash with round hole, (c.400-255 B.C.), two characters around, diameter 37mms, (Coole 8974, Vol.7 p.31, TFP 373, Pl.45 [$2000]). Some light green encrustation, otherwise very fine and very rare.

One of the earlist cash type coins that continued until last century.
