GEORGE VI, Melbourne Mint proof crown, 1938. Uneven grey (paper) toned over brilliant surfaces, nearly FDC and very rare.

Ex L.R.Hornshaw Collection. Originally bought from Dave Raymond in Sydney in 1939 with his ticket and signed and typed letter attesting to the fact this is a proof and one of only eighteen struck per correspondence with Deputy Master of the Melbourne Mint 17th March 1939.
