ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued A.D. 218-9, (4.598 grams), obv. radiate bust of Elagabalus draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP CAES M AVR ANTONINVS AVG, rev. around SALVS ANTONINI AVG, Salus standing partly to right, holding snake across body and feeding it cake, (S.7498, RIC 138, RSC 255). Struck on a large flan, nearly extremely fine, scarce.
