MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.230 grams), Colophon mint, issued c.319-310 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, crescent over TI monogram to left, **P* below throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*. (cf.S.6730, Price 1810, BMC 1810, cf.M.263, cf.SNG Cop.922). Good very fine, scarce.
