Ex Lovell Collection (UK) 1975, Sotheby's (London) 1977, Marshall Collection (UK) 1996. With details of service and copy roll entries. John Turner arrived in New Zealand on 29 January 1864. He participated in engagements at Gate Pa (29 April 1864) and Te Ranga (21 June 1864) on the East Coast of New Zealand, in and around Tauranga. Gunner Turner returned to England on 14 November 1866 and took discharge from the Royal Artillery in the early 1870s. He was awarded this medal on 24 February 1870
